Being a prepaid user myself, I couldn't help but feel like this article implies that prepaid users are low-income consumers! My small business uses Straight Talk's unlimited (minutes, text and web) plan and while this means it only costs us $45 per month(and no compromising on coverage- on the Verizon network), that is by no means an indication that we don't have money to spend...it means we are saving so much compared to the contract we were on that we can spend it wisely elsewhere. It is amazing that the article suggests that: "About 22 percent of U.S. mobile-phone users opt for pay-as-you-go calling........ That may rise by only 3 percentage points by 2015." When are people going to notice the benefits of prepaid wireless?

It appears that prepaid is still being marketed and referred to as a product for low income users. That notion is so outdated. Straight Talk, a subsidiary of Tracfone(as mentioned in the article as the market's leading prepaid provider), offers an unlimited plan for a mere $45 and on the Verizon network at that. This should already be huge incentive for both individuals and small businesses to take the plunge and switch to something far more economical and far simpler. The general public needs to change it's outlook on prepaid, as the product is already there, waiting to enhance their lives.
